Terms

Use FilmRightsProof as evidence infrastructure, not legal advice.

These terms describe the basic boundaries for the public-record research service.

Research service

FilmRightsProof provides machine-oriented research derived from public U.S. Copyright Office records. Results may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable or affected by source and network conditions. Current CPRS verification is bounded and may rely on maintained bulk and prior cached evidence when the current source cannot be used for a request.

Paid specialist operation

search_public_records is free. trace_public_rights is priced at $2.00 USD per completed authorized invocation. Payment authorizes the configured operation only and does not change evidence quality, confidence, legal meaning or source coverage.

No legal advice or clearance

FilmRightsProof does not provide legal advice, definitive legal ownership opinions, clear title, title clearance, E&O clearance, exhaustive chain-of-title conclusions or private-contract interpretation.

Evidence semantics

A result describes evidence found within the bounded operation requested. A search miss does not establish universal absence. A public record may identify registrations, parties or recorded documents without establishing every underlying legal fact.

Automated access

Automated access is an intended use. Clients should follow published contracts, respect bounded request limits and identify synthetic conformance traffic when using documented testing headers.

Independent service

FilmRightsProof is an independent Davisville Labs product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Copyright Office.
